The epic life Story

In January 2010, God began working in the hearts of two families (Matt & Michele Guentner/ Kipp & Jenny Purath) to start a faith gathering in Fredericksburg VA.  This prompting began a team approach to ministry, thus in September 2010, epic life church was officially holding public gatherings.

The vision of epic life is for people to Know God, Grow in their relationship with God, and Go reach others with the good news of God's redemptive plan.  epic life desires to be impactful not only in the Fredericksburg region, but in Virginia, the United States and the world.

August 2011, still in its infacy, epic life daughtered its first church in Gainesville, VA.  This church plant, Reaction Church,  is led by Dave and Barb Sillaman.  epic life believes one of the most effective ways to reach people with God's love is to plant churches.

epic life is comprised of people just like you!  We would love to have you join us during our Sunday gathering or one of our small groups...  helping us continue to be open to God as the story of epic life continues.

Matt Guentner is the lead pastor of epic life church.  In July 1992, Matt married Michele.  They are blessed with three daughters:  Makayla, Brianna, and Halle.  As a family, they enjoy spending time together, going to the beach and going to the girls sporting activities.

Matt & Michele have been in full-time ministry with the Christian and Missionary Alliance since 1992.  They have served for 10 years in the role of youth ministry.  Previous to coming to VA, 2002 - 2009, Matt and Michele planted and served as lead pastor of Open Door Church in Fullerton, California.  Matt graduated from Crown College with a B.A. in youth ministry and pastoral ministry.  Matt also graduated from Ashford University with an M.A. in organizational management.  Michele graduated from Crown College with a B.A. in elementary education.

Michele's hobbies include spending time with family, working out, reading, and spending time with friends.  Michele also has competed in a triathlon while living in Southern California and several 5K races.  Matt's hobbies include spending time with family, working out, sporting events, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Admittedly, Matt is a fair-weather Pittsburgh Pirate fan.  Matt and Michele would absolutely love to connect with you!
